No matter how well prepared a project was – often things deteriorate from the plan and sometimes they even run completely out of hand. During our accompanying project monitoring activities, we often observe delays in the project progress, which sometimes require a (temporary) reinforcement to bring the project back on track.
However, quite often the actors succeed in concealing emerging difficulties – at times even until it is too late. Reasons for those involved are plenty. Fact is: The project can almost come to a halt, the original internal correction mechanisms may appear not to work. For the investor or insurer this means “the going gets tough”. Appropriate and fast-track intervention of a professional rescue team is vital here.
